Noor-Ul-Iman School follows the NACAC’s Statement of Principles of Good Practice (SPGP). SCHOOL Noor-Ul-Iman School is a non-public, non-profit, tax exempt educational organization recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education. It is located in the suburban community of South Brunswick about midway between New York and Philadelphia. Noor-Ul-Iman School is currently in its fifteenth year of operation. The current enrollment is 458 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. There are sixty-eight students in ninth through twelfth grade. This year there are fourteen students enrolled in the twelfth grade, who will be the fifth high school graduating class. Most classroom facilities for the third through twelfth grade students are currently housed in three specially designed modular units. An early childhood facility was opened in the fall of 2004 to house the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students and an additional building was opened in the fall 2006 to accommodate the first and second grade students. In addition to classroom facilities, the school has a computer lab, science lab, and library. The community is very supportive of the school and is currently raising funds to build a permanent school structure. The 2007/2008 operating budget is 2.8 million dollars for the entire school, 3% of which comes from state and federal funding and 8.25% from donations. The school is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a group of professionals from diverse fields. Noor-Ul-Iman School is a college preparatory school that strives to give students the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in college and move on to the careers of their choice. All of this year’s seniors are planning to attend college after they graduate. These students will be applying to colleges that range from state colleges to the Ivy League. The Noor-Ul-Iman student body is very diverse. Students come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. The current student body consists of approximately: 59% Asian-American (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankans, Chinese, Japanese, etc.), 38% White (European and Middle Eastern), 2% African-American and 1 % Hispanic. The majority of the students are bilingual, and some are trilingual. The diversity of the Noor-Ul-Iman student body is an asset to this institution. Having such a broad spectrum of ethnic backgrounds gives the students greater perspective on cultural traditions as well as religious understanding. Noor-Ul-Iman School Mission Statement
